As with any form of organized racing, there are rules and regulations that need to be applied and followed. Boat racing is no exception especially when safety comes into play. Due to the high speeds, boat racers are at high risk for accidents and potential drowning making boat racing safety equipment a necessity.

Not all racing boats are required to have the same safety equipment and vary upon the type of racing or division they are classified under. Nevertheless, personal safety equipment is a must for all boat racing drivers. Some of the major personal boat safety equipment required are:

o Crash Helmet: Must meet all guideline racing specifications with clear identification of such and must be worn at all times on the water unless docked or under towing conditions.
o Helmet Restraint: Approved commercially manufactured straps must be used to secure helmet to drivers head.
o Neck Collar: Must be on at all times while on the water and meet all guideline specifications.
o Eye Protection: Must be on at all times while on water and meet all guideline specifications. Goggles or full face shields are acceptable but standard corrective eyewear or sunglasses alone is not permitted per boat racing safety equipment.
o Corrective Eyewear: At qualification of racing, all drivers must submit either their driver’s license or competition driver’s license in order to see if corrective eyewear is required. If corrective eyewear has been indicated, as a requirement, driver must wear proper corrective eyewear at all times while on the water.
o Medical Tags: All drivers must carry on their body medical identification tags, to be worn around the neck secured under driving suit.
o Ballistic Shorts: When traveling at high speeds on water there is risk of crashing causing serious injury. Ballistic shorts help to protect delicate body parts.
o Driving Suit: Must be made of non-flammable material, long sleeved with closured cuffs, bare the official NDBA logo patch on the upper left front panel or on upper left sleeve, and meet all other specifications for division. Cotton socks and fireproof shoes must also be worn.
o Gloves: fire retardant
o Life Jacket: Both capsule and non-capsule boat styles must wear floatation devices that meet the qualification specifications at all times while on the water.

Personal Safety gear is just one aspect of the boat racing safety equipment required. There is numerous other safety equipment required that also protects the driver in case of accidents. All boats are required to have approved secondary breathing equipment on board and drivers must wear a five-point safety harness. The interior of the boat must have no less then ¼ inch of foam padding and specified mounting brackets and bolts must securely mount everything. Fire extinguishers, fuel shut off valves, kill switches, paddles and parachutes are just a small amount of some of the requirements.

Boat racing drivers have a specific assortment of gear to help them in the occurrence of an accident. All boats prior to hitting the water must pass a thorough inspection for all boat racing safety equipment. With careful evaluations and constant upgrading, boat racing is less dangerous then it once was.

Japanese used cars are those cars which belong to well-known brands of Japanese car manufacturers. Some popular names that Japanese used cars have are Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. The term Japanese used cars may also be used to refer to used cars that were previously owned by Japanese owners, so this encompasses even those cars which are not of Japanese make (possibly American, for instance.) Whichever of these categories you inquire into, it is always possible to buy Japanese used cars.

When looking for places to find a Japanese used car for sale, remember that the Internet is one place where you can always make convenient, timely, and fast inquiries. To find perfect choices among used Japanese cars, you can visit online auction sites. The nice thing about online auction sites (which may or may not be maintained by a Japanese used car exporter) is that they may have a database or pool of Japanese used cars in various colors, makes and brands that you can examine. Another nice thing about using the Internet is that you need not leave your home or office just to make inquiries. A prudent and practical online auction site will always entertain even idle inquiries, because they never know when they might be able to close a sale on their stock of used Japanese cars.

Many of the Japanese used car exporter companies use the Internet nowadays to expand the reach of their operations. They may offer simply used Japanese cars, or they may go so far as to offer damaged Japanese used cars as well. Why would anyone buy a damaged car? Well, you might be surprised but that Japanese used car for sale from the Japanese used car exporter you clicked on might have valuable components or car parts that can be used by someone else. For example, if the used Japanese car is a particularly popular model among vintage car collectors, parts from that used Japanese car would command quite a price since the manufacturer has stopped producing that model already. There are also damaged Japanese used cars which may have an interesting story behind them – some people are quirky enough that if the story surrounding the car is bizarre or outlandish enough, they would attempt to buy it.

Prosper Co., Ltd is a registered car exporter based in Tokyo, Japan. Being a leading vehicle exporter and a pioneer parallel importer in Japan, they are committed to providing convenient, quick and professional services to worldwide customers. At Prosper Co., Ltd, their experienced professional staffs always put the pursuit of excellence in customer service as a top priority. Please contact them to import high-quality used cars at a very competitive price from Japan!

Snowmobiles are great fun for anyone looking to have fun with speed and snow. Some snowmobiles have been modified and equipped to take on this terrain in a different way

The participants of these races don’t have it easy. They courses they are given are short and difficult to navigate. They might have to drive over shoulder high snow, snow covered hills, soft snow banks and sometimes ice covered river sides. To be able to appreciate snowmobile racing, snowmobiles have to have enough maneuverability and engine power.

Your local snowmobile association should have all information about any races in your area and your surrounding area. They also have the information you need in case you want to take up racing. You can also access this information from the internet.

The best in snowmobile racing is found with the Snowcross events. These events are divided into two sections, the National and Regional events. At the regional level, if you are a member of a racing group recognized by the official Snowcross Association, you are allowed to take part in the races. These are again categorized from beginner to expert.

These competitions give snowmobile lovers the chance to practice their racing and how to maneuver their snowmobiles. They also learn how to perform stunts for example mid air steering skills. The professional snowmobile racers get to compete on the international level, and here they show off their mastery of skills, their snowmobiles, the snow and gravity!

The 2010 Formula 1 season has seen the return of the king – seven time champion Michael Schumacher – after a three year retirement. Alas, the king has often appeared to be wearing no clothes this season given his results. This raises the question of whether he is tarnishing his legacy in the ultimate form of auto racing?

To say that Michael Schumacher is a controversial figure is a minor understatement. There is no disputing that he is the all time winner in races and championships in the sport. There is also no disputing that he is ruthless, views the rules of the sport as negotiable and is not a very good loser. All that being said, I love him because he brings spit and fire to a sport where drivers are all too often safe in what they say in the name of pleasing sponsors.

Schumacher’s return has met with one rather interesting problem – he hasn’t been very good. In truth, the Mercedes evolution from the original Brawn car hasn’t been up to snuff. At best, it is the fourth fastest team on the grid, which means the drivers should logically be finishing between sixth and tenth in most races. This is what Schumi has done for the most part. Given this, why is everyone criticizing him. The answer is his teammate.

Nico Rosberg has long been touted as an immense talent. I’ve doubted it in the past, but there is no disputing the fact he has put in some
tremendous performances this year. In the races prior to Barcelona, he regularly out qualified and finished his esteemed teammate. He finished
with duplicate third and fourth place finishes in the first four races, but then learned what it means to be Schumacher’s teammate.

The team launched a new car in Barcelona. The goal was to remove the understeer by going with a longer wheelbase preferred by Schumacher. Suddenly, Michael was out pacing Nico and he started picking up more points as Rosberg fell out of the point in Barcelona before barely getting into them in Monaco. There is no doubt regarding who is the number one driver in Mercedes! So, does any of this tarnish Schumacher? Not really. The car is not competitive, so it is difficult to know why people think he should be winning. He has a three year contract, so let’s see what happens as the season progresses and next year. Schumacher is excellent at developing cars, so it is way too early to write off his comeback. He will never be as dominant as he was before, but he could certainly be racking up wins again in the not to distant future.

Are you a woman who enjoys the open road? If so, then you may need a pair of racing gloves. Whether you are just driving to work or riding in a race car, you should own a pair of your very own racing gloves. These gloves will help you steer with ease because they allow a great grip and they will also keep your hands from sweating as well as keeping your hands warm in the colder temperatures. If you are looking for a perfect pair of gloves to wear while you are out driving, then these are the ones for you.

Are you a professional bicyclist? Then you need a pair of performance biking gloves. Even if you are not a professional, but still enjoy wearing
gloves that will keep your hands protected and offer a great grip, then these are the gloves for you. These gloves will help keep your hands in
balance while you are out riding your bike on the road or a trail and will also help keep your hands comfortable and free of any blisters.

Perhaps you are the type of woman who enjoys riding a motorcycle on the road as opposed to a car. If that is the case then you need a pair of motorcycle performance gloves. These gloves are comfortable enough to wear while you are riding while also helping to prevent your hands from sweating and loosing their grip while you are outside on the open road. If you want to drive in style while also staying protected and safe, then these are the gloves that you need.

Maybe you like to race in a fast racecar on the track and if that is more your speed, then you need a pair of racing gloves for the racecar
enthusiasts. In order to be able to perform at your best, you need to make sure that your hands stay comfortably on the steering wheel without slipping, and to help with that you need to make sure that you have a pair of these gloves. They are perfect for anyone who loves to race in a car but who needs the ultimate protection.

If a snowmobile is more your thing, then why not pick up a pair of snowmobile gloves? They are perfect because they will not only allow you to remain a tight grip while you are outside on a snow mobile, but they will also keep your hands incredibly warm and toasty even in the coldest of temperatures. You need to keep your hands safe and warm when it is so cold outside, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be outdoors having fun! You can have the best of both worlds with a pair of gloves like these.

If you want a pair of gloves that are perfect for racing of any kind, but you want the look to be a little more subtle, then you need a pair of leather performance gloves. These gloves will keep you warm when you need to be outdoors driving and they will also allow you to keep a tight grip so you never loose your steering. You can be more discrete in these gloves and still get the right amount of comfort and function.

Racing gloves come in all forms, so get a pair specifically for your lifestyle and you will race better than ever!

Today, Portsmouth, Rhode Island is the center of manufacture. Johnstone’s pioneering J-24 model has an LOA of 7.32 m, an LWL of 6.10 m, a beam of 2.71 m, a hull weight of 1,600 kg and a 261 sq ft sail area with a 100% headsail.

The very first regatta to feature J boat racing was Key West in 1978. 20 boats competed. Other J boats include the International J-22, which usually involves a crew of 3-4 and is of a fixed keel design which means that older boats can compete on equal terms with newer versions. Its “class jib” means that it possess a big spinnaker, a mainsail and a non-overlapping jib. The International J-22 can plane on runs and reaches. Since it was created in 1983, more than 1,600 J-22s have been built and sail in 65 fleets in 18 countries. The 2004 World Championship race was graced with the presence of a staggering 130 boats.

Rod Johnstone perfected his design for J boat racing with the J-27, manufactured between 1983 and 1992. Its overall length is 8.38 m, beam 2.6 m, displacement 3,800 lb, draft 1.5 m and length at the waterline 7 m. Its belowdecks headroom is 1.4 m, standard water capacity 5 gallons and lead keel of 1,530 lbs. The J-27 is still raced under the auspices of various regional fleet authorities covering parts of the USA, Canada and South Africa. The current class president is Louis Johnson and the treasurer is Doug Davies.

The current situation of J boat racing is very positive. Regatta management and racing regulations have been improved resulting in bigger and better events, such as those organised by Midwinters XX. Championship organisers have been returning to the old sailing venues that made the J boat great. San Francisco hosted the 1997 North American and 1998 World Championships. Corpus Christi in Texas and Newport, Rhode Island have both been awarded major competitions in recent years.

Older J boats, some them now over 30 years old, are being improved and fixed up so as to continue conforming to class specs. The comparatively low price of second hand boats has meant that less well-to-do people can get into the arena of competitive racing. Once upon a time, such a hobby was the strict demesne of the rich.

The J brand has expanded into many other areas, such as official merchandise, photography and art which capture beautifully the thrill of sailing the boats either for racing purposes or just for relaxation.

If you are a vehicle owner and need to change your tires because it is all used up, you’ve got to know that buying tires is not the same as ordering a shirt out of a catalog. There are a lot of things that you have to consider when buying them.

* Know the type of your vehicle. If you know your vehicle well, salespersons are not going to find it hard to choose the right car for you. You will soon be presented with their line of quality tires perfect for your vehicle.

* The number of tires you need. If you are going to change all four tires, then you should have the least of all problems. You can simply buy a set that’s perfect for your vehicle and go. But if you need three, two, or just one tire, then you have to know something important. As much as possible, all your tires must match. Otherwise, you may encounter handling problems while driving. Better check the type of tires you won’t be changing and buy the one that is exactly like it.

* The Tire Size. As a rule of thumb, your car should be able to carry the entire weight of your vehicle and its usual load. Otherwise, it will be overworked and would not be able to respond safely and quickly on certain occasions. Never ever buy undersized tires. Always check the owner’s manual of your vehicle. Determine the size of time that its manufacturer recommends. You can go only as far as a 3% change in diameter.

* The Car’s Driving Conditions. How often do you use the car? Do you normally use it on concrete pavement or for off-road adventures? Is it going to be used on both sunny and rainy weather? These are one of the more important the questions you have to answer when buying tires. Manufacturers of tire add special features and capabilities to their tire to make it work perfect in conditions you mostly use your vehicle for. It is important to tell them about it or at least check out the tire features and find out yourself.

* The Look You Want to Sport It is a known fact that tires add so much to a vehicle’s look. In fact, a lot of manufacturers today are actually spending more time researching on how to add good style and appearance to tires without compromising its performance and abilities. Here is where the tire’s treads becomes a factor.

If you’re finding the right tires for your vehicle, find a Michelin tire dealer near you. Shop their complete line of Michelin tires, including performance, off-road, winter, all-season and more.

At Michelin North America, Inc., they put the focus on research, innovation, and testing to discover A better way forward®. They deliver the highest quality tires for cars, pickups, vans, and SUVs. In turn, their tires deliver miles and miles of efficient service and performance. The quality of their products is a reflection of the people who sell and service them. Michelin is committed to improving the transportation of people and goods around the world.

Motorcycle Racing is an exciting, physically demanding hobby that can be extremely rewarding, as long as it’s practiced with safety in mind. The most important things to consider when you’re thinking about attending your first track meet or racing event is to be sure that you have taken the proper steps to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.

This includes a protective jacket, riding pants, boots, gloves, and a DOT-approved helmet. When shopping for a jacket, find something that fits snugly, but is not restrictive of your movement. It’s important to be comfortable and have a full range of movement, especially with regards to turning your head.

The same holds true for riding pants. You’ll want something with protection on and around all your joints. Kevlar is a very popular material these days, as it provides a great deal of protection in the event of an accident, but is still very lightweight and doesn’t hinder mobility. A comfortable helmet is also of the utmost important. Try on several different brands and find one that fits your head well and offers you good visibility. The shape of helmet varies greatly from company to company, so you’ll want to visit a motorcycle shop where you can try on several.

In terms of protection, DOT-approved is a must. Look for the small decal on the back of the helmet. After obtaining all of your necessary safety equipment, you’ll want to make sure that your motorcycle is in perfect working order in all areas. Begin by inspecting the tires for any severe wear or abnormalities. Make sure that they don’t have any leaks or punctures, and test for proper inflation. A common mistake many riders make is to overfill their tires, thinking that it offers a more stable ride.

This is absolutely incorrect. Over-inflating a tire leads to a reduction in the available contact patch. This translates into less road-holding grip, which is extremely dangerous. You’ll need to inspect your braking systems as well. If you’re not comfortable doing this, bring it to a licensed professional who can fully test your braking system to ensure that it’s functioning properly. Just because it feels fine on the road doesn’t mean it’s ready for the track. The best piece of advice for a beginning rider is to take it slow!
